Blogging - A Whole New World
My entry into the modern tool of interpersonal communication called blogging has left me somewhat diffident. I have spent countless minutes if not an hour trying to figure out how to make this ingenious modern marvel work for me. I think that maybe I have finally succeeded, thanks to some much needed assistance from Natalie Ivie. This is so very humbling! - Not that I have to get Natalie's help but that I haven't been able to figure it out on my own. Trust me, it's a man thang.
Enough of that... I just put the finishing touches on the music for next weekend (July 23rd) and I am so excited about those services. We will be introducing two awesome songs that I feel will connect people with God in an incredible way. In the morass of the Christian entertainment industry (don't get me on THAT soapbox) there are, I feel, very few artists who really have a passion for God and want to see His people connect with Him. There are three Christian recording artists that I feel God has His hand on in a mighty way in this area - Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp and Lincoln Brewster. All three of these guys have been coming out with some amazing material for the past several years - material borne out of a seemingly genuine desire to touch and know our awesome God. These two songs for next weekend both emanate from
this desire. One is "Glorious" from the new Passion project, written by Chris Tomlin and the other is "Majestic" written by Lincoln Brewster from his "live" CD, All To You. Both of these songs are incredible in their lyrics and their music structure. I can't wait to share them with the church.
I am in preperation to depart from this city of Fort Worth in about 3 hours and go spend 3 days with my baby girl who is a Senior at Ouchita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. I am SO proud of her! She just got back from an extended studies tour of Europe where they visited Italy, France and England for 3 weeks. The trip of a lifetime! I so enjoy having her sing on the same stage with me on the weekends when she is able to come home. Cindy, Landon and I need this time away.
Keli, are you happy now? LOL
Until I have another rare downtime moment... Ciao
